My Approach to Doula Work
Birth, Bodily Wisdom & the Natural Process
I support all births—hospital births, medicated births, cesareans, VBACs, unmedicated births, home births, and everything in between. I believe that every birth is unique and carries its own journey.
Whether a mother is being induced in the hospital or planning an unmedicated home birth, I believe women should not fear childbirth. My role as a doula is to help the women I work with trust that birth is a natural physiological process and that their bodies know what to do.
Birth is not something that simply happens to you. It is your body’s innate wisdom in motion—the natural process of bringing forth the life you have been growing and nurturing for nine months.
A core part of my work is educating my clients on the physiological process of labor and birth so they understand what is happening within them every step of the way. I am deeply passionate about helping women reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies and witness just how awe-inspiring pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding truly are.
I believe that knowledge is power. By learning about the processes of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery, you can enter motherhood feeling more relaxed, informed, and deeply nourished.
My role is to help eliminate fear, empower you with education about your options, and ensure you feel fully supported throughout the entirety of your pregnancy and labor. I offer comfort measures, practical resources, emotional grounding, and postpartum nourishment in ways that feel most aligned for you and your family.
My intention is to help you move through birth with trust, curiosity, confidence, and reverence for the wisdom already within you.
Why I Became a doula
My journey into becoming a doula is rooted in my deep belief that women deserve better healthcare, deeper support, and more education about their bodies. Too often, the modern systems surrounding pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and maternity leave leave women under-supported during one of the most profound transitions of their lives.
To bring a human being into this world is an extraordinary act, and I believe it deserves reverence, respect, and care. Birth is an expansive, life-altering experience-one that transforms not only the mother, but the entire family. Women deserve to move through this rite of passage with curiosity, confidence, and trust rather than fear.
At the heart of my work is education, because knowledge creates confidence. I help women and families reconnect to the deeply ancestral wisdom and physiology of pregnancy, birth, postpartum healing, and breastfeeding so they can trust the intelligence already within the body.
As a doula, I am here not only to support the mother, but to gently guide the partner and family through this transition as well. My role is to help everyone feel informed, grounded, nourished, and deeply held as they step into this new chapter together.
Ultimately, this work is about helping women trust themselves, trust their bodies, and move through birth and early parenthood feeling empowered, supported, and connected to the wisdom already within them.
